Zion National Park, Utah // [d a y # o n e]

On the first day of Zion
my road trip sent to me:
A lengthy and very sleepy drive

I love all and any spontaneous adventures no matter how small they may be.

One random Wednesday morning, I woke up with a strong urge to go camping at Zion National Park. Was I dreaming about it? Quite possibly. Only my subconscious will ever know. Anyways, right at that very moment, all I wanted was to start heading towards the grand mountains of Utah. But, reality quickly and surly sank in. I had to freaking adult. And by adult what I mean is that I had to go to work.

So, with much resistance, I worked that Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. Was I productive at work during those days? Quite possibly not.

All I could do was dream about the breathtaking landscapes of Zion. I began exploring all variations of the Zion hashtags on Instagram. I couldn't stop jumping from hashtag to hashtag. I couldn't stop ogling at random stranger's Instagram photos of their Zion wanderings. I was ogling at their photos like a teenage boy gawking at a big a**.

With so much anticipation in my heart, time went by so slowly. But finally, the moment was here... FRIDAY!

After work, I quickly drove home, packed my belongings, took a quick shower and began my drive towards Utah. It was a crazy and long 6.5 hour drive from Phoenix, Arizona. But, after 6.5ish hours I finally arrived at my Zion campsite. The time was now around one-o'clock in the morning. I quickly built the tent and in an instant I drifted into a deep sleep. Did I begin dreaming about Zion? Quite possibly. Only my subconscious will ever know.

On a final note, I think that's enough word vomit for a day. Are you dying to read the rest of my Zion story?

Come back tomorrow...
